Welcome to the website for the Foundation for Saving Sight!
The breathtaking beauty of the volcanic Guatemalan mountains and the vibrant colors of the indigenous Mayan people sharply contrast the economic struggle and political unrest that has challenged this Central American country for decades. Yet the strength and hope of the people carry on as they cultivate the land, grind their maize, harvest their coffee beans, fish Lake Atitlan, gather firewood from the hillsides, weave their clothing, sell at the market, and raise their families with a strong sense of faith and community.
Restoring vision to those blind from cataract is a way to renew that strength and hope.
